The design is refined until the simulation shows optimal performance. Then a hardware prototype is made and the design is validated on a flowbench. After that comes dyno testing and on-vehicle testing. It takes a superior design to pass all those tests!
Filter on a Stick
That is not a funny joke. It's wide open to hot underhood engine ari, and there's no power in the hot air! Ram-Air houses a giant lifetime filter in an enclosed cold-air box, which inhales cool, dense outside air--up to 57% more than stock--for more power and mileage, lower EGTs and less smoke. And it's designed to not cause fault or error codes.
Very Exclusive
Banks Ram-Air is the only aftermarket intake with bellow. This accommodates engine movement and prevents component damage for longer service life. The optional high-flow Super-Scoop is another Banks exclusive!
The Scoop
Banks' exclusive Super-Scoop is an add-on product to the Ram-Air Intake System. Super-Scoop connects below the front bumper, forcing a big charge of cool, pressurized ram air into the Ram-Air Intake's air filter housing. Because the air is drawn from outside the engine compartment, it has greater density and makes more power than the warmer engine air. Super-Scoop's cooler, denser air also improves fuel economy, reduces smoke and lowers exhaust gas temperatures! Rain water and debris are funneled out of the bottom.
